MISSIONS

Our goal in Missions is to use our hands and feet to spread the love of Christ. We believe community should be lived out in the actions we practice—whether it’s just down the street, in another state, or across cultures.
Global Missions 2009
In some 52 countries of the world, our brothers and sisters in Christ face humiliation, loss of job and/or education opportunities, imprisonment, torture, and sometimes even death because of their witness.
Because God’s Word calls us to “suffer with them” (1 Corinthians 12:26), the 3rd Sunday of each month at COH, a restricted or hostile country is highlighted during the worship service followed by a time of corporate prayer. During that month we continue to remember our fellow suffering Christians in that country in prayer during our individual private devotions.
Voice of the Martyrs
COH supports the work of The Voice of the Martyrs, a ministry that has been serving with the persecuted church since 1967. VOM was founded by the Reverend Richard Wurmbrand, who survived 14 years in a communist prison for his Christian activities. He is the author of numerous books including “Tortured for Christ.”
